The house was built as a boarding house in 1894 and was used for that purpose until about 1925. It was a single family home until the 1950s when it was converted into four apartment units. It has remained apartment units until the present. Don has owned the house since 1981, and lived in it for 9 years before moving to Oregon for 20 years. Now we are back in Leadville, and we are returning it to a single family home on the first floor, with guest apartments on the second and third floors. Alison has a clothing business, Zona Clothes, and uses half of the second level for cutting and sewing. Since we have returned to Leadville we have completely redone the entire house including the entry porch, foyer, parlor, stairs, landing, the landing bathroom, the small apartment on the second floor, and the "Treehouse" apartment on the third floor. We look forward to sharing our guest apartments as a vacation rental, and meeting travelers, skiers and athletes. Leadville has a lot to offer with the abundance of intact historic homes and endless ski, mountaineering, hiking and fishing possibilities.
Our third floor Guest Apartment is 875 sq .ft. and has a bathroom with a shower. The sunny kitchen includes a full size refrigerator, stove, oven, cookware, dishes, coffee pot, microwave and a kitchen table. Wireless internet connection is available, and TV with cable and dvd. It has a queen bed, a single bed, a double mattress in the loft and a double futon that folds out from a couch. . The Loft apartment can sleep up to 4 or 5. From the third floor windows you can look out over the town and the continental divide. It has been called the Treehouse apartment because the Cottonwood and Spruce tree branches are right outside the window.
We also have a smaller three room Guest Apartment on the second level with a queen bed in the bedroom, a futon that folds out to a double bed in the sitting room, and small but cute kitchen. It is suitable for 2 people or a small family. It has a bathroom outside the door on the landing. This apartment also has a TV and wi-fi.
On-street parking right in front for 2 or three cars, and off-street parking for 3 cars if needed.
You will enter through the front door, up the oak paneled stairs, and on up to the second or third floor apartments.
We use the side entry ourselves, so you will have the private use of the foyer, stairs and landing.

Third floor apartment is $ 95.00 a night, and $550.00 a week. Weekly rates are based on 7+ nights stay.

Rates are based on double occupancy, add $5.00 per adult each night.
No cleaning fee.
We will probably be home to greet you, but if not, come on in and make yourself at home.You can't miss the apartment doors on the second floor landing.
A two night minimum applies year-round. A three night minumum during the 50 mile and 100 mile races.
Rates do not include sales and lodging tax of 8.8%.
The house is non-smoking. Pets are welcome. No extra charges.
Discount lift tickets at Ski Cooper are available, $21.00 for childres and $37.00 for adults.
We have two mountain bikes to borrow, just ask!
We also have a spot for one RV or Trailer. Perfectly level, we can provide water, electricity wi-fi and use of the bathroom on the second floor. It is a convenient place to stay if you want to be right in Leadville.
